Magical Hen

One day, a poor man went to a farmer and in exchange for a hen, got himself a sack of rice. The farmer's wife became very angry when she came to know that her husband had given him a sack full of rice instead of a simple chicken.

However, the next day morning the farmer's wife went to the hen and found a golden egg. The magical hen started laying an egg of gold every day. This went on for several weeks. Soon the farmer became the wealthiest in the village.

However, the greedy wife of the farmer was not satisfied with this. One day when the farmer was not at home, she brought a big knife and cut the hen's stomach.

She was thinking that all the golden eggs would be found together from the hen's stomach. She was very disappointed when she could not find a single egg from her stomach. Now she had even lost the one golden egg she used to get daily from the hen.
