Hanuman and His Teacher - Sun
When Hanuman grew a little older, a big question filled his heart: "I want to learn! I want to know all the shastras, all the wisdom in the world. But who can teach me?"
He looked up at the sky and saw Surya, the Sun god, riding his golden chariot. "The Sun sees everything! He shines on every book, every teacher, every corner of the world. He must know everything! He will be my guru."
So Hanuman flew up, folded his hands, and said, "Surya Dev, please teach me."
Surya smiled kindly, but shook his head. "Little one, I cannot stop. If I pause even for one moment, the whole world goes dark. Day and night depend on my journey. I have no time to sit and teach."
Most students would have given up. Not Hanuman.
He thought for a moment, then grinned. "Then don't stop, Gurudev! I will fly along with you!"
And do you know what he did? He flew backwards — in front of the Sun's chariot, facing his teacher with folded hands — matching the Sun's speed across the whole sky, from morning to evening!

Day after day, Hanuman flew backwards before the blazing chariot, never turning his back on his guru, never missing a lesson. The heat was fierce. The journey was long. But his love for learning was stronger.
In this way, Hanuman learned all the Vedas, all the shastras, grammar, music, and wisdom — and became one of the most learned beings in all creation.
When the lessons were complete, Hanuman asked, "Gurudev, what guru-dakshina may I offer you?" Surya replied, "Serve my son Sugriva, and stand by him always." And Hanuman kept that promise — which is exactly how, one day, he came to meet Lord Rama.

“A true student never says "it's too hard." When you truly want to learn, you find a way — even if it means flying backwards across the sky!”
